I
enjoyed the exhibited pictures very much.
There is a brilliant idea and a great talent.
The colors are very realist. It is one of the best exhibitions that
I have seen in the last years. I consider visiting again observing
profoundly each picture.
25/2/1980
Indeed I came back and observed the exhibition again.
I consider it no less impressive than my first visit
It is my first time visiting twice in the same exhibition.

Rina
Dror`s prints are ambitious but
in couple of landscapes she is not entirely at ease in arranging her
motifs.
On the other hand, Dror is proficient in the portrayal of young female
nudes, of which there is an exceptional numbers.
Her range of poses might be enlarged by depicting, from time to time,
older and less idealized bodies.
Another style where she certainly knows how to hit the nail on the
head is in a partly minimal abstraction, e.g. the red waves `Landscapes`.
This quality is also apparent in her strictly linear hallways and
lanes, which possess a distinct abstract significance.

The connection between
the lines values of the drawings and their collage background is the
main interesting point of view of this exhibition.
The artist has excellent capability to choose the glued background
components fragments in her works, but there is no connection between
the content of the text that maybe hidden in the selections of the
glued paper and the subject. Any intention of choosing them will be
redundantly in context picturesque..
The artist is also equipped with drawing capability that outlet in
specific expression in woman images that are shaped in part of the
works also from paper cutout.
This exhibition shows the great skill and talent that undoubtedly
can produce more powerful results than these.

This
is an exhibition that the rhythm of the drawing sweeps away the work
of art.
The nude is only a means, a starting point for deeper substance, and
the counterpoint between the naked collage and the drawing, has a special
aroma.
This is an exhibition
in the major scale!

I am very impressed!
There
are here genuine artistic values:
transparency well build, interesting compositions.
There is a sophistication in the combinations of positive and negative,
and nice games of dark and bright colours surfaces.
The colours are very interesting and in place.
I enjoyed it very much.

Cafe Theater `The Simta` is a small cultural center in the middle
of old Jaffa, in which plays are regularly shown, and art exhibition
are exhibited.
Rina Dror was chosen to exhibit her collages exhibition `Feminine
nude ` in the The Simta` gallery.
The technique is collage, based on using white paper, colored paper,
journals and magazines. They are torn, cutout and on them there are
drawings in a pencil and an ink women in nude.
The correct using of shadowing with pattern in positive and in large
value in negative characteristically part of her works in the exhibition.
Using the shapes and the images from the journal with the drawing,
emphasis the rhythms of woman body that her lines are drawn with confident,
resolved and decisive, which pronounce a movement in art that was
and will stay forever.
The nude is academic
subject per excellence that can be overflow to banality, but Rina
Dror succeeded with passion and rich imagination to give `nude` a
new artistic meaning.

Beautiful,
interesting, original and teaches a lot.
I was very impressed from the marvelous fertility imagination, the
capability of the synthesis between the drawings and the collages
.Her deeply artistic sight very impressive. Not often it is possible
to express and put in narrow frames the innermost feelings in connection
with true art.
Thank you Rina Dror, you did it!

Rina
is not afraid from nude.
`The nude is only a means, a starting point for deeper substance`, so
are writing the critics about the work of Rina Dror, an artist from
Rishon Le Zion who exhibits 25 collages in `Hasimta` theater gallery
at old Jaffa. Rina who started drawing nude at age 15 is captured with
this subject, `Feminine Nude`.

that can illustrate her flowing ideas that are running in her head during
house works and family care. This is her seventh single exhibition in
the last four years.
Rina is also an art teacher in `Haviv` elementary school, at Rishon
Le Z ion. She said that through the children she is fulfilled.

`Nude`
not at the President House
Rina Dror, an artist from Rishon Le Zion, is exhibited her seventh single
exhibition in the theater `Hasimta` gallery, in old Jaffa.
The nude in Rina Dror pictures is only means, a starting point for deeper
substance. She combined nude with precisely, sharply and strictly lines.
Rina Dror srated to draw feminine nude at age 15, when she jointed her
mother the artist Shullamith Silagyi as a member of the artists group
in `The Geffen House` in Haifa, her home town
.`I have plenty of ides; they are coming out during house works and
family care`
.Rina is also an art teacher in `Haviv elementary school, at Rishon
Le Z ion. . Her pupils were credited with prizes every exhibition they
were participated in.
Her work `Jerusalem as a symbol of Israel unity` is exhibited
permanently at the president house in Jerusalem; `in this work` she
says `there is no nude`.

Motion in the material
Rina Dror get the great
desire to creat from her family .when she was a child her mother,
Shulamit Silagyi was an artist, her older brother Giora Shalgi was
very talented and her father Paveo Silagyi who was an engineer loved
to engrave and to invent patents.
Rina has been painting for 20 years and she is a member in the Art
association. Her professional is an art teacher. Once a week she participated
in a group drawing nude models. The base of her collages is drawing
and the use of plane newspaper or colored newspaper is like: ` Motion
in the material` she explains.
In her first exhibition she exhibited an etching on oil pastel, latter
she worked with aquarelle and drawings, but most she loved to do collages. At
the age 15-she started her real paint; she jointed her mother's drawing
nude model class. And since than she did not stop to express her artistic
ability in this subject.`All my artistic ideas can be found in my
thoughts; I only have to produce them, every thing that I am doing
is the best for that moment.` I don't believe in pressures or compulsions,
what insides me must be release and be expressed. I simply see every
thing with my eyes closed, as an inner sight, like another world`.At
the Feminine nude Collages, Rina says: `you have to run around the
picture with your eyes while you are watching, not to focus on one
part of it, like the text or an image. You have to fill the movement,
to look at the whole concept, to give freedom to your imagination`.
The important skill in doing Collage is drawing.
On the 9th on February
1985 Rina Dror`s exhibition, will be opened in` Yad -Labanim` memorial
house in Rishon Le Zion.

There
is something magical in my desire to travel and search beautiful landscape
at my Homeland just to paint.
It is like falling in love every time from the beginning. My deep
roots of my love to patriotism began in my childhood when I was a
pupil at the`Really Hebrew School` in Haifa. I was also a member of
the Scouts Youth in school named `The Mount Carmel Wonderer`.
Every Saturday meeting we marched 5 km through the streets and the
neighborhoods in Haifa, climbing over mount Carmel until we arrived
to the magnificent `Grove horseshoe`.
We were surrounds by the beautiful nature, the flowers: Anemone, Cyclamen,
Daffodil, the old Pine trees, and the smell of the earth, the sunshine
lights and shadows.. Sometine the meetings were at nights. We learned
about the stars and to search some of them, to listen to the whisper
of silence at night.
We learned how to feel the nature and to be part of it. Everything
was wonderful, I can see and feel it now as it is alive.
My first experience in landscape painting were when I was a teenager.I
joint my mother, Shulamith Silagyi who was an artist.
We search after an interesting landscape throught the roads on Mount
Carmel. We were impressed from the wadis and the view of the open
sea. We rested on a bench under the trees in`Mother Garden`, there
the lights and shadows inspired my imagination.
As an elder artist, I travel through the country finding the places
and the view, which stimulate my senses.
Some times the games of shadows and lights impress me, or the blue
colors of the sea waves.
I feel that my being outside the nature gives me an inspiration.
In this exhibition I show my wonderful trips in my Homeland full of
views with variety techniques:Drawings, Aquarelle (water color), Collages,
Mix techniques.

Rina
Dror cornered `Gan Hamoshava`(the colony garden),it is a great
garden in the center of Rishon Le Zion, the fourth large city in Israel.
Rina seems to be equipped with a hidden camera that lets the events
to flow with out interfering by her presents. She `catches`the figures
and the views and transfers them to her sketchbook.`There is something
magic in this green place`, she says. And those magic events are absorbed
in sensitive eyes and a lot of rhythm and dynamics.
Rina was born in Haifa and since 1967 she lives in Rishon Le Zion.
She decided to use her town as an object to her next exhibition.and
choose the great history garden in the center of the town who was
planted at 1903 by the pioneers who establishing Rishon Le Zion as
a colony in 1882.
`Gan Hamoshavah` (Rina says that if she would say the city garden,
people might think about a mall) finds its expression in many different
observations. The artist pays her attention toward the details in the
surroundings environment such as: the cards players, the resting and
passing people, and those who enjoy themselves in that place. While
she was sitting in the corner of the garden on the same bench for
two weeks, equipped with a hat, thermos with hot tea and colors palette,
everything was passing through like a movie. ` I have to be mixed
with the nature, to feel to be a part of it`, said Rina.
She used different techniques to express her ideas in large range
of creativity, as: ink drawing, oil pastel, aquarelle on white paper
and colored paper and the climax is the cutout technique. The colorful
compositions create texture of depth and motion. The figurative style
mixed with shadows and lights movement and the cutout -collages, gives
together a sophisticated work of art.

It did not take a lot of afford to search for
creative ideas while entering the public garden.
There is something magical in this green, green place. The garden area
is very large; you can see every thing in to its depth, one object is
revealed from another object. The height trees trunks and the mysterious
of the branches, the curving paths full with different colorful human
characters. I found it very pleasant to watch people walking in the
garden, like far and hidden camera, with out any disturbance. There is
a constant movement in the garden, people are coming and going or passing
through the garden.
The most interesting of all are the card players. Every day, at the
same time when I arrived to the garden the same people were sitting
in their same seats, at the same pose like living sculptures. Every
thing is flowing and dynamic except the changes of the sunlights colures.I
have learned to memorize garden, almost by heart, and to transfer the
movement fraction that I `catch` as a silhouette in a continuous memory.
There always remained the shining reflect of the sunlight which floods
me with its sharp dazzling light. The card-players were searching for
shadows under the tree whereas I looked for the sun to enlighten their
surroundings.
I was very inspired by the diversion light and shadow and their movement.
Once I came to the garden and there was nothing for me to draw. The
card-players were sitting in their places as usual, but the sun did
not shine through the cloudy sky. It was all foggy. I took all my equipment,
left the garden and decided to have a haircut. While I was sitting there
with my eyes closed I could `see` everything.
Art becomes something spiritual for me, an inside look. I can `see`
with my eyes closed all the shapes and colors as the entirely artistic
images.
The creativity process is similar as: being pregnant and giving
birth.
